SprayFoam 2026 Preview: The Role of Closed-Cell Foam

The Hardening of the Envelope

As we look toward March, the SprayFoam Convention & Expo 2026 (March 22-25, Las Vegas) is generating buzz around "Storm Hardening." Closed-cell spray foam (SPF) is increasingly recognized not just as insulation, but as a secondary water barrier and a structural adhesive that increases roof uplift resistance.

SPF and Temporary Roofs

For restoration contractors, the interplay between SPF and temporary roofing is critical. In some emergency scenarios, shrink wrap is used to dry-in a structure so that SPF can be applied to the underside of the deck. This sequence of operations will be a hot topic at the upcoming technical sessions.
